How do I know when it’s time to replace my windows?
If your windows are letting in draughts, have misted-up double glazing, are difficult to open, or feel cold to the touch in winter, it may be time to upgrade. New windows are warmer, quieter, and much more secure.
What styles of uPVC windows do you offer?
We manufacture and install:
- Casement Windows
- Tilt & Turn Windows
- Vertical Sliding Sash Windows
All are made to measure in our Huddersfield workshop and fitted with high-security locks and energy-efficient double glazing. You can contact us at 0800 0483 352 (freephone) or 01484-512743 (local).
What does a window’s energy rating actually mean?
It’s a way of showing how well your windows keep heat in. Ratings go from A++ (best) to G (worst). All our windows are A-rated as standard, so they help keep your home warmer and can lower your heating bills.
Will my new windows have trickle vents?
Yes, if building regulations say they’re needed, we’ll fit trickle vents at the top of the window. These small vents help let fresh air in and stop problems like condensation or damp.
Can I customise the look of my windows?
Absolutely. Choose your own frame colour, handle finish, glass style, and even dual-colour frames (e.g., white inside, grey outside).
What is a FENSA certificate, and do I get one?
Yes, for qualifying installations, you’ll receive a FENSA certificate, which proves the work meets current regulations. Keep this document safe; it’s important if you ever sell your home.
What types of doors do you supply and install?
We offer:
- uPVC Front & Back Doors
- Composite Doors
- French Doors
- Sliding Patio Doors
- Bi-Fold Doors
All are custom-built products and installed with multi-point locks and internal beading for security.
What’s the difference between composite and uPVC doors?
Composite doors are thicker and built from several materials, so they’re extra strong, well insulated, and long-lasting, perfect for front doors. uPVC doors are lighter, secure, and more budget-friendly, which makes them a good choice for back doors or side entrances.
Can I get different colours inside and outside the door?
Yes. We offer dual-colour options on many of our doors, so you can match your interior and exterior décor.
How secure are your doors?
All doors come fitted with multi-point locking systems, high-security cylinders, and internal beading. Many of our composite doors also meet Secured by Design standards
Can I have a low threshold for easier access?
Yes. We offer low-threshold options or ramp-friendly setups for wheelchair users or anyone needing safer access.
Will my new door help with soundproofing?
Yes. Our composite and double-glazed doors are designed to reduce outdoor noise, which is particularly useful near roads or busy areas.
What styles of conservatories and porches do you build?
We offer a full range, including:
- Lean-To
- Victorian
- Edwardian
- P-Shaped
- T-Shaped
- Orangeries
- Custom Porches
All are fully made to measure to match your home’s size, layout, and style.
Will I need planning permission for a conservatory or porch?
Usually not. Most porches and conservatories don’t need planning permission because they fall under permitted development. But if your home has any restrictions or you’re planning something large, we’ll check and help with the paperwork if it’s needed.
What’s the benefit of a tiled conservatory roof?
Tiled or GRP roofs (like Equinox) make your conservatory usable all year round by keeping it warmer in winter and cooler in summer. They also look more like part of your home.
How long does it take to install a conservatory?
It depends on the size, but a typical build takes 2–4 weeks from groundworks to finish. We’ll give you a full timescale during your quote.
Can you convert an old conservatory into something more modern?
Yes. We can replace roofs, upgrade glass, and even change frames and layouts to give your old conservatory a fresh new look.
What are fascias and soffits, and do I really need them?
Fascias are the boards that run along the edge of your roof and hold up the guttering. Soffits sit underneath and help with airflow. They both protect your roof from rain, damp, and rot, so yes, you do need them in good condition.
When should I get them replaced?
If they’re cracked, sagging, rotting, or if your gutters keep overflowing when it rains, it’s probably time to replace them. New uPVC fascias and soffits last for years and don’t need much looking after.
What colour options are available?
We offer white as standard but also install black, anthracite grey, brown, and woodgrain finishes to suit different roof styles.
Will I get a return on investment if I replace my roofline?
Definitely! Good fascias and gutters protect your home from costly damp damage and improve kerb appeal. It’s a smart preventative upgrade.
Can I just buy supply-only products?
Yes. We offer trade supply of windows, doors, sealed glass units and more. Just send us the measurements and details of what you need, and we’ll give you a supply-only quote with local collection or delivery available.
Do you remove old products and waste?
Yes. We’ll take away and dispose of old frames, glass and packaging as part of your installation. No mess left behind.
Do your installations come with a guarantee?
Yes. Most products come with a 10-year guarantee, and we stand by the quality of every installation.
Do you offer financing or staged payments?
We don’t currently offer finance, but we’re happy to work with you to find a solution. Speak to our team to discuss what might work best.
Do you install in my area?
We install across Huddersfield, Halifax, Dewsbury, Wakefield, Leeds, Bradford, and West Yorkshire. For bigger jobs, we also travel to Doncaster and even Barnsley.
